You can create a listing to sell your items with the /market sell command, or create a listing of something you want to buy with the /market buy command.
¶ Selling on the Market
Sell listings are created through the command /market sell. You will be presented with your Inventory to select an item to list, then prompted for the quantity you'd like to sell as well as how many 
Birdiebucks you want to sell them for (per item). Neighbors can then purchase some or all of them using a Purchase button at the bottom of your listing.

Important! When you create a Sell listing, the items will be immediately removed from your Inventory and held in the Market.

When someone purchases your item(s), the
Birdiebucks will be transferred to you and they will receive the item(s) immediately. -
At the bottom of your listing will be a button to
Remove Listing, which will return any remaining items to your Inventory (provided you have enough room). -
There is also an
Update Listingbutton, where you can add or remove items to the listing, as well as change the asking price.
¶ Making an Offer
If you have what a neighbor is looking to buy, you can click on the Make Offer button at the bottom of their listing. You will be prompted with how many of the item you want to offer as well as how many Birdiebucks you want to sell them for (per item), which defaults to the amount in the listing.

Important! When you make an offer, the item(s) will be immediately removed from your inventory and held in the Market.

If they accept your offer, the
Birdiebucks will be transferred to you and they will receive the item(s) immediately. -
There will be a button on your offer to
Rescindit. This will either put the item(s) back in your inventory, or send them to your Farm where you can claim them when you have room in your inventory.
¶ Creating a "Buy" Listing
When you use the /market buy command, you'll be presented with a list of every item to select the one you want, then prompted for how many Birdiebucks you want to buy it for (per item). Neighbors can then make an offer using an Offer button at the bottom of your listing.

Unlike a Sell listing, when you create a Buy listing, nothing is removed.

When someone makes an offer, it will show up under your listing with buttons for you to either
AcceptorDecline. -
If you accept an offer, the
Birdiebucks will be transferred to them and you will receive the item(s) immediately. -
At the bottom of your listing will be a button to
Remove Listing, which automatically declines any pending offers and returns the items to their owners.
